I think I need to apologize to you along with many others on this board. We thought this was a discussion board where we could state what we feel and some of us are very passionate about the child molesters in the JW faith. Some of us may state our hopes and wishes that it would stop, that JW children and even those who are cold called on in the field service might have a chance of not being called on by JW peodphilies. And if they do get raped that at sometime in their lives they might have a hope of getting justice.

Like Landy you just slammed JWdaughter for sharing her view's.

I have to realize that I am stupid what did you call me a "crazy nut case" or was it that you said I was "insane" I cannot find all the threads that you have attacked me on.

Take this thread an honest question was asked and you and RO have proceeded to derail it, train wreck it, to where it has nothing to do with the topic but just for you 2 to spout off all of your vast knowledge.

It's good to know that this is truly not a discussion board but a Landy and RO board where if we do not agree with you and your views you will slam and destroy what the thread is about until it is unrecognizable if anyone dares to disagree with you.

You are right, Landy is right. But the only thing that you cannot stop is that the ad's have been placed and even though you are 100% right where you said "To everyone that isn't a witness or ex-witness they're a bunch of slighty odd but generally nice people who disturb them on a Sunday morning."

The few the very, very, very, few who take any notice at all of the JW's at all and who what did you just say 'call on them on "Sunday mornings?" I know I am wrong on this point too so please forgive me for being such a idiot but where I live it is Saturday mornings that everyone went out. I know, I know, I know it is Sunday where you are and I am just being contrary just to get back at you for some insane reason that you and RO think.

But for those very, very, very, few as you have so eloquently, and clearly, and concisely explained to all of us who do not have the vast knowledge that you and RO have these ad's will stick in the minds of those that see them, it will be in their minds the next time a JW calls on them where you live on a Sunday morning where I live on a Saturday morning but on some morning that a JW calls on them and all the elders who have allowed the child molester free run of the hall's to go out in service these elders will always be looking over their shoulders wondering when they might be called out on it.

What makes me wonder since you are so right, that this is just a silly little "insignificant" religion, that as you also so elegantly put it here "Humanity doesn't give be a shit about the JWs" that no one notices and thinks of them as very harmless, why all these law firms would go to such trouble and spend so much money and time on just a what did you call it "a little fishing exposition to see what it might throw up"

this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".

with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".

recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

I really hate ones like RO and when they spout off stupid things like he did on this thread, he really does not have a clue what he is talking about.

I am torn between feeling sorry for them and thinking that they got what the deserved. My husband and I lived on nothing and served where the need was great and where there was also no work, it was hell. We barley had enough to pay the gas it took to drive around aimlessly so the angles could watch and approve that we were at least trying to do what Jehovah demanded of us, I always knew it was crazy and so I worked, two to three jobs. I was super depressed and could not understand why I was so depressed that I honestly thought of suicide.

Then we got called to Bethel, where we took a vow of poverty. Even with that, it was better then where we came from, we did what that first couple did expect we did not have anything to sell, also I am driven to support myself, I refused to take anything from the government. When we left Bethel I worked again 2 to 3 jobs at a time to make it.

Was it easy no way, did we get any help from anyone NO! We had no family, no one in the hall to help us, we did it all on our own. What I am bitter about is one of my jobs would have paid for me to go to collage to get my AA but one of the old sister's in the hall threw such a loud livid fit that I would even dare to think of such a horrible thing as to go back to school that my husband who was an elder told me to just stop.

Also I wanted to open Roth IRA's instead of traditional and again since we were using a elder who was a CPA to do our taxes he threw a fit and asked where my faith that the system was ending was. What good was a Roth IRA since I would never grow old.

As far as RO's commits that all "bethelietes have known for the last gosh 12 years that bethel is no longer the place you grow old and die at. There are some older ones that are taken care of but this is no longer a permanent assignment, you have to prepare yourself to leave at any point. Many take advantage of the skills they learn at Bethel either in construction or something else."

We left in 95, when we were there we were flat out told that if you were accepted that it was for life, period. As far as learning some great skill that you can use outside like RO said very, very, very, very, few learned anything that could be used on the outside. It just burns me up to hear ones like RO who know doubt lives in his parents basement spout off such nonsense.

When we left we asked for a letter saying that we had been at Bethel so we could at least explain our years of not working to any new prospective employer. Bethel did not want to even give us that. We had to beg and all we got was a letter saying we had served from 1990 to 1995, nothing about the kind of work we did or anything just extremely, extremely generic. I was ~~lucky~~, fortunate that the first job applied at thought that JW's were nice people and was impressed that I believed so strongly in my faith that I would go so far as to take a vow of poverty to work for them, my husband was able to call his overseer at Bethel and he gave my husband a good recommendation. My husband's overseer was not supposed to have done that and could have gotten in trouble with Bethel for it but he knew how hard it was to get started over again.

Contrary to what RO said I knew of very few couples who left and were able to use any of the Bethel skills on the outside.

Also I was never on an assembly, or interviewed even at our hall about any of the things I did or went through. It seemed like most of the ones in hall hated us and were upset that we went at all, like the sister who was so ticked at my taking college classes, or the elder who did our taxes, both of these people worked great jobs and saved for their retirement but when it came to me doing the same they had huge opinions about what I should do.

We in fact after we left and my husband was still an elder we had ones in our hall dumped on us to help. I will never forget we had been out of Bethel less than a year and were really struggling. The brother who was the speaker brought all of his 5 kids and they brought friends with them also, so there about 10 in their family. We did this feeding the speaker through the book study. When it was husband's turn I always did a crock pot and had the speaker and all the book study over, I could feed a lot of people for about $25.00 and no one ever offered to bring anything it was just assumed that we would feed everyone. Well it was not our turn but the elder who's turn it was took off and made no plans for this family so a MS's wife took it on herself to invite this speaker and all of his family to a restaurant that was about $10.00 a person and then came up to me as we were leaving my not knowing anything about any of this and told me that since my husband was the only elder left in the hall we were taking speaker out and feeding his whole family and they had already left to go to the restaurant. We had no money. I had a charge card. We put it on it on the card, well over $100.00. I was sick not knowing how I was going to pay for it.

Things like that happened to me all the time. All the time I spent in the full time service only once did someone fill up our car with gas, we never got invited out to eat, we never got anything period expect to be dumped on. So as far as glory I never saw it. I am so glad that many think that is the only reason anyone does this is for the praise and to be looked up to. I did it because I honestly thought it was the truth. I guess I was just stupid like Landy on this board call's me.

i had no doubts at all about the 'truth' untill a friend of mine in the cong' began falling away.

in trying to help him i had to ask questions and do research and that of course cracked the doors of my mind open for the first time in over thirty years.. years ago, when jwd allowed members to have signatures, i used the following quote from voltaire as mine.

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

Also as far as allowing the parents to go to the police if they wish to do so, why the word wish? Why not demand that the police get involved first before anyone else, especially before uneducated elder's who know have not been trained speak to the child and traumatize the child further.

I was never told not to go to the police over child abuse but when my husband was an elder we had a mentally ill person threaten to kill us, I wanted to go to the police but we were forbidden to by the brothers at Bethel so as to not bring reproach on Jehovah's name. This man made my life a living hell for two years, stalking me and threatening to kill me and I had no power to do anything to stop it. So though I do not know if parents are allowed to go to the police here in the USA I do know we were not allowed to go over a stalker.

Phoebe it might be in the UK and Ireland but it is not in the USA, I just spoke to the CO in July and he was adamant that no one knows and I was not tell anyone. No child molester that I know of is being followed anywhere in any hall or convention, if they were I would not be posting right now, they are allowed to got out in service and the ones that are assigned to work with them do not know they are child molesters, all they have to be is a mature adult. How is that safe for the public? The CoB would send the one child molester out with 18 year old's who knew nothing of his past or with his wife sometimes. She married him with a 7 year old child knowing he had served 10 years in prison for raping his own bio 5 year old child, How would either of these mature adult's protect a householder's child?

Flipper told me that his brother told him, parents were warned, but in reality they were not, they say what they can to calm people down but they do not do 2 adults on one child and do not follow any child molester that I have ever seen.

I am just so glad these ad's are out even if like Landy and RO say it it will accomplish nothing at the very least they have made this public. The JW's can cry persecution, say that it is Satan's lies, etc but for the elder's in my hall and I am sure many other halls, they are going to be worried wondering when a victim, another Candace Conti might come forward and will it be them going to court defending why they allowed a child molester to be around the child in their hall.

If that is all that this accomplishes that in itself is a huge victory.

I want to add my thanks also. CA love you post, it is so true. I was getting so depressed yesterday with ones who were trying to downplay this saying such stupid things as "The ad is simply a fishing expedition to see what it throws up."

Like I told that poster, this is not just some small nameless law firm but a major one, I am sure they have more to do than to just throw out bait for something stupid that they hope might bring in some more money for them. They have to have done some homework on this. They are exposing JW's in a very bad light. I told that poster that they could very well be sued if they are not careful and he shot back at me like I was a stupid fool, what can they be sued for. Like I am some idiot.

Well I was in a hall with 3 child molesters and NO they did not molest me but they were allowed to be around children and no parents were warned to watch their children around these men. I only found out by accident because my sister dated one of them otherwise I would never have known any of it. Once I found out about the one, it was leaked to me by another elder's wife that there were 2 more. One of the other 2 had been taking care of a mentally handicapped little girl so the mother could listen to the meetings without being disrupted by her child, I am sure she was not told he was a child molester. This pedophile had been taking the little girl who was 3 into the backroom alone and outside alone all with the elder's who knew he had been in prison for 8 years for raping a 8 year old child, approval. This child also could not talk, she was a perfect victim.

I was furious when I found out and went ballistic, I was an elder's wife at the time. I got the police and court records of the one I knew about, I flipped out and told a foster mom to watch her child. Now get this, one of the elder threatened to DF me for causing divisions in the hall. He also made a veiled threat that I could be sued for slander against the child molester. So when Landy said they cannot be sued I was threatened, granted I was not sued because as I said I had proof of everything, court and police records, etc, which the elder also flipped out about and told me I had to bussiness having, but the prosecuting attorney of my city told me were PUBLIC and that I had every right to have them and the elder's should have wanted to at least see them but they refused to even look at them. My life became a living hell. My husband was deleted as an elder because I was not in subjection enough.

I contacted the police, the child protective service, the parole officer, and Bethel, but as soon as I had flipped out the elders stopped the pedophile for taking care of the child and it seemed to me that they lied to the parole officer as I stupidly gave him the # of one of the elder's. When I next spoke to the officer he told me the pedophile was not holding children after speaking to the elder.

If I had known how it was all going to go down I would have kept my mouth shut, let the child molester keep taking the child into the backroom alone and gone outside to call the police. The police told me they would have came to the hall and at least talked to the elder's about it being against the law. But I flipped out first and the elder's pulled him from the child and it was my word against the elders.

Everyone I have spoken to is disgusted but until a child comes forward and says they were molested none of them can do anything.

It is just so frustrating to have ones like RO and Landy downplay this and try to make it seem like such a long shot. Maybe it is but to keep hammering it will scare ones from coming forward. Everyone I have spoken to in the law enforcement, down to CPS feel that in my hall a child was molested by the lack of care from the elder's in their, allowing the child molesters to be around children. But no one can do anything until a victim comes forward. One of pedophiles even held a baby shower with his wife. Seriously with the elder's approval he held a baby shower and elder's were there.

It just hits so close to home and is so crazy, why not at the very least not allow them around children and at the very least quietly tell the parents. The elder who got so mad at me for telling the foster mom, told me he had to convince the mom that the child molester was indeed safe to be around kids. This foster mom let her child sit with one of the pedophiles and his family when her child was just 4 years old or so and the mom got mad at me for telling her, because she believed the elder over me. I have the police and court records and none of the elder's wanted to see them only the CoB took them and very reluctantly at that.

I just get frustrated on this sight at ones who defend this religion and they way they are handling this problem.

I made a friend outside the JW's and she invited me to a Bible study that she went to with about 200 women, I went to try to make new friends, these women bring their children and the the study group is so serious about this problem that even though it is only women who attend, no men it is still 2 adults and one child PERIOD. If you work in the children's group you HAVE TO HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK PERIOD!

I just do not understand why if a group like this that is small can do it why would not the JW's do it. It just does not make sense why they are fighting this and why ones like RO and Landy say that this is hopeless. None of this is making sense.

by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.
